Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) is an Institute of National Importance. It was formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), which was Indias one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges. The institute has been named after the great scholar, educationist and the first education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. This seat of higher learning came into existence on August 26, 1975, vide Government of Uttar Pradesh Notification No. 10/15-60/74 under the provision of the U.P. Universities Act. However, though belonging to the younger generation of the Indian Universities, the Bundelkhand University has fast transformed into a University of excellence offering opportunities to the aspiring youths to pursue higher education, applied research and Professional training according to their aptitude and potential.

In this backdrop, Mewar Institute of Management & Mewar Law Institute were established by the Mewar Education Society, Delhi, a non profit making body, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and comprising a group of enlightened academicians, businessmen and industrialists of repute. The Institutes are guided in its activities by an advisory board.
